How to Install a Jaw Crusher

Jaw crushers are widely used in mining smelting, building materials, roads, railways, water conservancy, and chemical industries. There will be a strong vibration in the work, because of the large hardness of crusher materials. Therefore, the work of the installation of a jaw crusher is very important. The frame of the jaw crusher needs to install on the foundation before assembly crusher. Then install the other parts in sequence.

1. Frame installation

The installation of the crusher frame should be pad something that reduces vibration between the frame and concrete. Such as hardwood, rubber, etc. The horizontal and vertical levelness of the frame-mounted on a foundation or on a wooden base shall be in accordance with the installation requirements of the equipment. When installing the frame, the horizontal and vertical levelness of the frame on the foundation shall be less than 0.2 mm.

2. Assembling eccentric shaft and bearing

① Before assembling the shaft and bearing, it is necessary to make good lapping of the sliding bearing. Then put it into the sliding bearing housing. Testing its placement of the level and coaxially through the gradient machine. If the measurement results meet the requirements, then install the eccentric shaft on the bearing. And check the fit between the shaft and the bearing via the red powder which applied to the journal.

② Because it needs to use the principle of thermal expansion and cold contraction during install the bearing. So the heating process must be strictly controlled. Selects the suitable temperature to heat for should be selected for different specifications and sizes of bearings. The bearings of jaw crushers are large size bearing. It will cause the assembly quality to decline if uneven heating. Therefore, we choose to reheat the other side by turning the bearing direction 180° to ensure the even heating of the bearing.

③ It is required to strike the bearing diagonally during assembly. It makes sure that the bearings balance into the eccentric shaft. When the eccentric shaft enters the movable jaw, we need to strike the jaw with a hammer. The eccentric shaft is loaded into the moving jaw by using the interaction force without damaging the bearing on the eccentric shaft.

④ The grease is injected into the movable jaw by a butter oil injector. The Grease added into the bearing is about 50% of its space capacity and is changed every 3-6 months. When the oil change, the raceway of the roller bearing should be cleaned with clean gasoline or kerosene. So that the bearing lubrication is fully uniform, bearing in heavy load, the high temperature under the role of a good lubrication. It extends the service life of the broken bearing.

If there are too many high points on the surface of the sliding bearing. It needs to be scraped which until the high points between the contact surfaces disappear. Some lubricating oil is applied between the housing and the bearing to reduce the wear of the shaft. The contact area between the eccentric shaft and the frame shall not be less than 80%. The clearance shall be less than 0.07 mm.

3. Connecting rod installation

After the above parts are installed in place, the connecting rod can be installed. Before the connecting rod is assembled, the position of the connecting rod and the required assembly should be carefully checked. After no problems are found, the connecting rod can be lifted and the whole connecting rod can be cleaned with gasoline or kerosene. After cleaning, apply a layer of oil to the connecting rod surface to ensure its installation lubrication. Then the upper bearing, the main shaft, the upper bearing and the connecting rod upper shell are lifted. The connecting rod is then lifted, and the connecting rod bolts are installed on the connecting rod and tightened. The gaskets shall be machined or new gaskets shall be retrofitted. If conditions permit, it may be lifted into the frame by means of a crane after the connecting rod and spindle parts have been externally assembled.

4. Installation of toggle plate

Release the spring nut, remove the spring, use the chain or wire rope in the lower part of the movable jaw. Then pull the wire rope, the movable jaw close to the fixed jaw, the elbow plate will automatically fall at the same time. After the old bracket is removed, the new bracket is pulled into the bracket by a wire rope. After that, the bracket is in close contact with the bracket seat. A pull rod and a spring are installed. The bracket is then supported in the bracket seat, and a trolley is used to pull the wire rope. So that the movable jaw is close to the fixed jaw. After the elbow plate will automatically fall off, installation, just the above steps can be repeated in reverse.

5. Installation of movable jaw

The movable jaw of the jaw crusher is assembled by preassembled movable jaw parts. First,
Assemble the movable jaw parts accordingly. The movable jaw, movable jaw shaft, movable tooth plate, and bracket pad are assembled on the ground. Then use the crane lifts the assembled parts into the rack of the crusher.

For the sliding bearing which needs to install it. Then put into the housing, measuring its inclination and coaxiality of the deviation. If it within the allowable range, the bearing and journal surfaces are coated with lubricating oil. The movable jaw is placed in the bearing, and the coaxiality and inclination of the assembly of the sliding bearing are tested. The inclination is guaranteed to be 0.2 mm, and the coaxiality is less than 0.06 mm. The installation of the movable jaw is completed.

6. Installation of tooth plate

Jaw crusher tooth plate is directly used for crushing ore parts. Its structure is simple, but because of frequent contact with the ore, tooth plate is the crusher wear quickly. So it is often needed to replace the parts. There are two kinds of cross-section structures shape of the tooth plate, the smooth surface and the lattice surface. Because of its heavyweight, it is necessary to make a structure that can be easily replaced.

The tooth plate is fixed by bolt or wedge, which is fixed on the front wall of the frame or the moving jaw. The contact surface between the two must be straight, not allow happen the accidental phenomena. If there is a high point of contact, it needs to be handled in time. Because the inner side of the front wall of the rack is not processed. So the soft metal gaskets are placed between the back of the fixed jaw plate and the front wall of the rack to ensure that the two are closely fitted.

Due to the jaw crusher vibrates heavily during operation, it should be installed on the concrete base. In order to reduce vibration, noise and impact on nearby buildings, between the crusher and the concrete foundation is cushioned with hardwood backing plate, rubber belt or other damping material.

The size of the discharge port should be adjusted according to the required product size. When adjusting, loosen the bolt and tighten the spring. Using the lifting bolt to open the adjusting seat, insert or remove the corresponding thickness of the gasket. Then back up the lifting bolt. The adjusting seat is pressed against the frame ear seat under the action of the moving jaw weight. At the same time, the gasket group is pressed together.
