The lab vibrating screen machine and linear screen both have a screen character in their names. They are equipment for material screening, but there are differences between them. Most people are familiar with linear screens. It is the commonly used linear vibrating screen on the production line. Types of lab vibrating screens

The vibrating screen machine is screening equipment in the laboratory to replace manual screening work and short screening time. It mainly includes the laboratory sieve shaker, vibrating sieve machine, standard inspection screens, etc.

  1. Laboratory Sieve Shaker
  • The laboratory sieve shaker is suitable for experiments in metallurgy, building materials, chemicals, cement, fuel, and other industries. It mainly consists of a base, screening device, transmission device, and other parts, with flexible operation and automatic shutdown.
  • The screen of the laboratory sieve shaker can hold 1-7 layers, and use  fixtures to clamp sets of screens with diameters of 75mm, 100mm, and 200mm. The screen can handle more than 150 times per minute, suitable for particle size composition inspection of ordinary abrasives, production classification of superhard materials, and particle size composition inspection.
  1. Vibrating sieve machine
  • The vibrating sieve machine is made of stainless steel, with characteristics of corrosion resistance, high-temperature resistance, easy cleaning, etc. It is suitable for screening materials with hygiene requirements, such as abrasive tools.
  • The mesh size of the top vibrating sieve machine is 0.038-8mm, and you can choose different sizes of screens according to the accuracy requirements.
  • If the screening accuracy exceeds this range, you can also discuss with the merchant to customize a sieve. However, it is necessary to consider whether the motor power can drive the new sieve. If not,  replace the motor to avoid frequent clogging during screening.

  1. Standard inspection sieve

Standard inspection sieves also known as experimental screen, sample sieves, analytical sieves, etc. It has wide applications in laboratories of universities or enterprises with national standard restrictions.

 

Linear vibrating screen

The linear vibrating screen uses a vibrating motor as the source of vibration power, causing the material to be thrown up on the screen and move forward in a straight line. The material evenly enters the feeding port of the screening machine from the feeder. Through multiple layers of screen mesh to get several specifications of materials and discharge from their respective outlets. It has the advantages of low energy consumption, high output, simple structure, easy maintenance, a fully enclosed structure, no dust overflow, and automatic discharge. This machine is suitable for mineral ore sand processing plant operations.

Working principle
  1. The linear vibrating screen adopts dual exciters. When the two exciters rotate synchronously or in reverse, the excitation force generated by their eccentric blocks cancels each other in the direction parallel to the motor axis. It stacks into a combined force in the direction perpendicular to the motor axis. Therefore, the motion trajectory of the screen machine is a straight line.
  2. The two motor shafts have an inclination angle relative to the screen surface. Under the combined excitation force and material self-gravity, the material is thrown up on the screen surface and jumps forward in a straight-line motion, achieving the purpose of screening and grading the material.
  3. This machine makes the processing plant achieves automatic operations. It has the characteristics of low energy consumption, high efficiency, simple structure, easy maintenance, and a fully enclosed structure without dust leakage. The screening mesh can reach up to 400 mesh, and screen out seven different particle sizes of materials.

Application

Linear vibrating screens are suitable for removing impurities and classifying powdered and granular materials. It is widely used in plastics, abrasives, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, building materials, grain, carbon, and fertilizers industries.

  1. Removing impurities: High fluidity powder and particle processing, quickly removing large particles or small fine powder.
  2. Grading: Continuous grading and screening of mixed materials with different particle sizes to produce various products. Choose a 1-6 layer screening machine to separate the mixture into different fineness products based on the mesh size of the screen. Get seven different specifications of finished products at once.
Structural composition

It includes a screen box, screen frame, screen mesh, vibration motor, motor base, vibration damping spring, bracket, etc.

  1. Screen box:  Welded from several steel plates with different thicknesses, which has a high strength and stiffness as the main component of the screen machine.
  2. Screen frame: This machine is made of pine or wood with small deformation, mainly for keeping the screen flat and achieve screening.
  3. Screen: There are several types of screens, including low-carbon steel, brass, bronze, stainless steel wire, etc.
  4. Vibration motor: Depends on the model.
  5. Motor base: When installing a vibration motor, must tight the connecting screws  before use. Especially for the new screening machine, which must tight repeatedly three days before trial to avoid loosening and accidents.
  6. Vibration damping spring: prevents vibration from being transmitted to the ground while supporting the weight of the screen box. When installed, the spring must be perpendicular to the ground.
  7. Support bracket: It consists of four pillars and two channels by stainless steel, supporting the sieve box. During installation, the pillars must be perpendicular to the ground, and the channel steels under the two pillars should be parallel.

The differences between lab vibrating screen and linear screen

The linear screen has wide applications in industries such as coal, water conservancy, hydropower, mining, building materials, chemical industry, abrasives, etc. It is suitable for screening and classifying particles or powdery materials.
